Building confidence from my perspective

I don’t actually have any answers for you when it comes to building confidence.  All I can do is share what it took to help me build my own self confidence.

It took a lot of work and it took years but what helped is reading books, listening to audios and attending seminars. They didn’t help when I needed them to tell me what to do or when I thought that all this material was going to help me without my active participation.

I went through a period of buying one self confidence book after another and I didn’t feel any different after reading them all. Eventually, I realized that while all these books helped ultimately my life will change only when I made a conscious decision to make things happen.

I think I fell out of love with self development for a while because I saw it as an industry full of people promising results that didn’t deliver but then I changed my mind when I realized that they are just tools and ultimately finding my own path is a better way.

This is one thing I love about wanting to change my life – I never know where things are going to take me and how my life will change as a result but I am always open to trying it at least. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t.

So enjoy reading anything you find on here but don’t think for one second it is the answer to self confidence, it is only the inspiration through me knowing that if I can transform my life then so can you and the guidance to keep moving forward and doing it.

Despite being a teacher, life coach and practitioner of different self improvement techniques ultimately Nike said it best “just do it!”

Building confidence can be as simple as making the decision to start doing so. That was the decision I made in 1991 and now there is a lot I do in my life that I never thought I would – especially when it comes to doing things along, and knowing what I want out of life and there is always more to discover.
